Laryngoscope handle

Stainless steel, laryngoscopes, unchanged for 50 years are disposed of after use and in developing countries cost and energy source are significant issues. The challenge was to improve access and availability of laryngoscopes by significantly reducing costs whilst improving functionality and ergonomics and reducing cross infection. Creating a new esthetic, appropriate to the nature of its innovation, ensured greater acceptance by a market notoriously traditional in its response to new forms and in particular the use of polymers over more traditional metals and a disposable in-built power supply.
