TORCH T01

Digital piano

Yamaha Corporation

A new digital piano with a black keyboard made from unused African Blackwood left over from the processes of crafting musical instruments (particularly clarinets and oboes), and a music stand and body laser-engraved with graphic patterns derived from the bark of this tree. Themed around a single African Blackwood tree, the TORCH T01 features a warm aesthetic and feel, and has been hand-finished by craftsmen to ensure that people will continue to treasure and play it for years to come. It is intended to contribute to the realization of sustainable products in areas like Tanzania, where these trees grow.
