R&D Facility Building

TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION

This vehicle research and development facility surrounded by forests serves as a hub for the Company’s motto "Making Ever-Better Cars." Under the concept of "spinning," from which the Company’s business originated, the external louvers made of extruded aluminum profiles, crossed in front and back like spinning a thread, perform a solar shading function, and their spindle shape directly represents the corporate branding. The interior design creates a space unique to this location, focusing on the densely forested site environment and the issues inherent in the environment.
