Traditional Korean-style house Cafe Bidam

Performance venue and café

Bidam is a project that renews a hanok (traditional Korean house) into a performance venue and café. The space uses motifs and colors based on Korean royal orchestra costumes. The stage is in the courtyard, with room for the audience on the terrace. Seats are created by extending and overlapping the terrace. The folding screen behind the stage acts as an orchestra shell, and the wall is made of Korean materials designed to create a rich reverberation. The orchestra costumes' iconic yellow, red, and blue are used for lighting and finishes. The café provides a space where visitors can enjoy the harmony of traditional Korean culture and modern architecture.
