TwinNut

Split nut

The TwinNut consists of two parts with an identical outer shape. They form the exact shape of a standard nut when combined. The combining motion is only possible when each part is tilted at the same time. This locks the two parts together when the nut is tightened. Up to now, split nuts have been expensive to produce, difficult to handle or not very stable. The TwinNut can be produced from any established material. Production costs and fastening stabilities are similar to standard nuts. However, assembly and disassembly is much faster, especially when the screw thread has been damaged. Square, hexagonal and knurled nuts are possible.
