Window lamp

In Korea, it is common for students and workers on low incomes to live in small residential spaces known as Goshiwon. Often these rooms are located in semi-basements, and therefore receive very little natural light. Certain rooms may even be entirely windowless. Tyndaller is a wall-mounted lamp designed to mimic the look of a window with Venetian blinds, giving the residents of Goshiwon a sense of connection to nature and the outdoors.

JURY STATEMENT

This solution elegantly addresses the challenge of small residential spaces with insufficient natural lighting. Natural light has been shown to support wellbeing. This is a solution that has applications far beyond basement living spaces.

WINNER STATEMENT

It's an honor to receive the iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD again this year. I will dedicate myself to making a better world through design. And I hope Covid-19 will be resolved soon.
