Underfoot
Cigarette butt bin
Yun Paik
According to research, cigarette butts are the most common form of plastic waste in South Korea. They are often disposed of on the streets and slowly leach toxins into our natural systems, presenting a serious threat to humans and the environment. Cigarette butts are made of a plastic called cellulose acetate. As long as they are collected separately, they can be recycled. But how can we collect cigarette butts? Underfoot is a public cigarette butt bin designed to collect cigarette butts safely and efficiently. The idea is about changing smokers' behavior for the better by giving them another option rather than forcing them to take appropriate action.
