This design project breaks away from the cold rigidity of horizontal and vertical lines. Every detail embodies natural, fluid organic concepts. Key features are curves that echo the scrolling lines of an opened book; a ceiling in warm wood that communicates with the verdurous lushness outside the window; and brushed and chiseled surfaces of rusty speckled granite walls, whose unadorned textures showcase the beauty of natural stone oxidized over time. The central arched dome glows with a faint halo in a reference to heavenly bodies.
