Altering Cothing into Adaptive Clothing

For individuals with physical disabilities, clothing is more than a mere fashion statement; it is an essential part of daily life, significantly impacting their comfort, mobility, and self-esteem. By leveraging the existing alteration service provided by Uniqlo, a popular and budget-friendly brand, and enhancing it to be more inclusive for individuals with physical disabilities, we address the challenge they encounter: the scarcity of accessible and reasonably priced adaptive clothing tailored to their specific requirements.

JURY STATEMENT

The design ingeniously uses simple and affordable methods to adapt regular clothes, making trying-on in public easier for people with disabilities and ensuring a dignified experience. The in-depth and holistic design with a service design approach is extremely impressive. Well done!

WINNER STATEMENT

I'm deeply honored to receive the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD, and I hope it symbolizes a collective commitment to making our world more inclusive and welcoming for everyone.
