Upcycle Africa protects the environment and promotes an innovative mindset while empowering youth. Through up-cycling plastic bottles, we train our local communities especially the disadvantaged youth to protect the environment. Bottles replace environmentally unfriendly bricks, which are burnt for days promoting deforestation. Bottles are collected and compacted with soil, making the houses very cost-effective and affordable. Furthermore, the buildings are strong, buffer heat, and are earthquake resistant.
Upcycle Africa is a wonderful project in which houses are built from recycled plastic bottles. In fact, a zero waste campaign serves as a prime example to sensitize schoolchildren and local communities to turning plastic waste into products with inherent value. Moreover, the project empowers women to earn income.
