Vodafone's new SOS Band is designed to deliver peace of mind to the elderly and their loved ones. An SOS alert can be transmitted manually with a button press or automatically through fall detection using an algorithmically programmed accelerometer. The alert is sent to a pre-determined number of family members or a first response service. Paired to a simple smartphone app, family members can rest assured, knowing that they will be alerted in an emergency. The bracelet’s stylish look incorporates sophisticated textures and metal details that help eliminate the social stigma attached to wearing a medical safety device.
