V3

Mobile Phone

V3, a new uncompromised wireless communications device, does not force the user to make any trade-offs. Precision, edges, performance, balance, proportion, iconic and thin - this vocabulary was used to help define the design of the V3, elements that made up the essence of the design work. The work was highly cross-functional. The outcome could not have been achieved without the close collaboration of all the team members. As a team the goal was to create a communication icon without compromise, where you do not have to trade usability for reduced size. The keypad construction was a crucial element to the overall success of the program. We needed to use 1/3 of the traditional thickness, but still create a tactile and dimensional keypad with high perceived quality.
