Low-floor and high-floor tram

The main goal of the design was a consistent appearance of both vehicles Variobahn and Tango. Identical construction characteristics and the application of identical components have been the basis of this tram product line. For the benefit of a double-wing door positioned directly behind the driver’s compartment the front module is kept quite short. The reduced slant of the vehicle’s front improves visibility conditions and readability of the destination display. The layout of the parting lines and the segmentation of the paneling ensure consistent contours and comply with maintenance and replaceability requirements. The Variobahn’s convex impact absorbing element withstands low speed impacts and provides additional passive pedestrian safety. Functional components such as headlights and cameras are homogeneously arranged and well integrated into the overall design.
