The 203-key W Hotel Panama, located in the heart of Panama City, opened in March 2018 as the first W Hotel in Central America. The building harmonizes the city's past and present with distinct hues and textural contrasts, especially emphasizing the iconic Panama Canal while integrating Panama's history and colorful patterns. The hotel draws inspiration from the industrial look of shipping containers, which can be found easily along the Panama Canal, gives a twist with original graffiti by local artist. Within the interiors of the guest rooms, handmade Mola patterns from communities of Guna and Embera lent a local note to the space.
