Font design

A visualization experiment is the core idea behind this font design for Chinese characters. The ceramic tile is an ancient Chinese architectural element. Movable-type printing, which has made an immense contribution to Chinese and world civilization, is also based on ceramics. The pattern behind this font helps to visualize the Chinese character architecturally, thus “Walishu” unites two great innovative traditions of Chinese culture: architecture and printing.
