WAVE

Public Media Art

CJ POWERCAST Co., Ltd.

'WAVE' is a work of public media art that depicts a realistic wave that constantly rushes through an L-shaped LED screen, 80 meters in width and 20 meters high. The large LED screen in the city is an advertising medium, but it has the character of public space. We wanted to provide a sense of comfort through the public media to people who are exhausted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We selected a scene at the very opposite end of nature, and sent an unimaginable wave rushing through the middle of the city center. To express this more dramatically, the LED billboard was transformed into a glassed water tank. An anamorphic illusion technique was used to create a realistic scene where three-dimensional waves continually rush.

iF Gold Statement

A huge wave surges ceaselessly in a downtown glass cube. In reality, it is a curved LED wall. The analogy of a digital wave couldn't be more beautifully staged. The fact that this natural spectacle perfectly celebrates the technical competence of an LED advertising space and fascinates passers-by at the same time, makes it unforgettable and mind boggling. Pure technical and creative gold!
