WAZU is a new luxury sake brand with the concept of 'Feel the culture with one sip.' Partnering with selected sake breweries across Japan, we create limited editions of unfiltered, non-pasteurised, undiluted sake brewed from low-polished rice. In contrast to the current sake trend of using high-polished rice, WAZU takes on the challenge of emphasising locality and individuality. The packaging adopts a picture scroll label inscribed with a travelogue inviting customers to encounter unknown Japanese landscapes. WAZU created unique value and delivers an unparalleled cultural experience through a once-in-a-lifetime journey with the five senses.
iF Gold Statement
A fine beverage is not the work of a single producer, but of generations. The challenge of packaging it is to convey this without upstaging the product within. The design for WAZU Sake celebrates purity, discipline, and tradition. The removable label, acid-etched matte black bottle, and symbolic monograms create a layered unboxing ritual. Every touchpoint reflects devotion to craft and provenance.
