Leipzig.de is the new citizen portal of Germany’s fastest-growing city. It restructures over 400 topics into a clear, digital-first service and information platform. People think in topics, not departments, so navigation and search are built around real life events and needs. The needs of citizens are as diverse as they are, so a citizen portal must reflect that. Accessibility was at the core of every decision, guiding design choices in language, layout, interaction, and performance. The result is a website that effectively communicates the brand values of Leipzig and fosters connections between citizens and their city.
