Piktograms recyclable fraction

Waste disposal company EDG will be launching the “Wertstofftonne” or recycling bin in Dortmund in 2011. This bin will replace the “Yellow Bin” and increase the proportion of recycled material enormously. In addition to lightweight packaging, they will soon be collecting and recycling small electrical appliances, metals and plastics of all kinds. In order to communicate the new service to people from all countries of origin, campaigns, exhibitions and so on, a pictogram system was developed which visualizes distinctive waste types from various categories. The remaining categories of biowaste, paper and other waste were subsequently added.
