A bamboo tube was cut into sections to within 4 cm of the edge and not right through. Then heat was applied to the continuous part to curve the tube. Light shines through the equal spaces between each incision, giving a hard bamboo tube a new soft look. This design reflects the uniqueness and aesthetic value of bamboo. By reducing the overall process, the natural bamboo form has been preserved to improve the image of bamboo and its symbolic value.
