Teahouse

The teahouse in the podium of an office building in Zhengdong New District aims to bring a sense of tranquility to residents of the busy city. The podium is an unconventional space, 30 meters deep but only 8 meters wide, making it dark. Working with this, the designer installed skylights and created a sunken courtyard with a peaceful atmosphere. Drawing inspiration from “In Praise of Shadows,” the space was transformed into an oasis, its disadvantages becoming advantages, achieving the unity of function and form.
