Piggy bank that stimulates sharing
Wiggle is a piggy bank that encourages children to share a part of their money to make others happy, with the aim that they carry this pro-social behaviour into their adulthood.The design incorporates subtle nudging and different compartments that encourage children to balance saving goals and to think of those who are less affluent. The unique aspect of Wiggle is the compartment with a heart-shaped panda, meant to hold money that children want to share. In this ongoing project, children saved over EUR40 with Wiggle for organisations such as the World Wildlife Fund, the Children Cancerfree foundation, and animal protection services.
Although its design needs some refinement, it is a powerful way to promote social awareness in children, while it actually does provide the real means to do good.
