Environmental app

Wherever humans go, they leave waste behind – and areas of natural beauty are no exception. Visitor numbers to US parks are set to increase to more than 100 million visits per year, yet budgets are decreasing and waste is increasing, making trail maintenance more challenging. Wildnet, a mobile app, addresses this problem at multiple scales by engaging visitors in park restoration efforts, simultaneously building awareness and supporting those already hard at work defending nature’s beauty. Waste documentation and cleanup are facilitated by Wildnet by allowing individuals and groups to report or locate garbage or damage along nature trails.

JURY STATEMENT

Wildnet is a beautiful and intuitive app that promotes environmental responsibility in open public spaces, but also a sense of community among visitors.

WINNER STATEMENT

We are elated to receive this award and would like to thank our professors for their support and the iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD jury for the recognition. Congratulations to all the winners and best of luck forging the new virtuality in the year ahead.
