City light design

Designed by the architects of The Cloud Collective, the responsive light design for the Willem II underpass in Tilburg (NL) uses approximately 30,000 Philips Lighting LEDs in walls built with glass bricks to stunning effect. A unique algorithm means the dynamic light effect is responsive to the time of the day, weather and even movement of people as they travel from the center to the northern part of the city. Never repeating, never boring but always relevant, this innovative use of generative content instead of pre-programmed light is an iconic addition to the Tilburg architectural landscape.
