Winter Universiade 2019
Event design
The event design for the 29th Winter Universiade Games 2019 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, combines the principle of harsh Siberian nature with one of the “warmth of human hearts”. The graphics symbolize both movement in sports and the dynamic elements of Siberian nature, such as wind, ice and the powerful Yenisey River. The identity, the U-Laika mascot, uniforms, small architectural forms, the Universiade cauldron, torch and awarding ceremony were all developed as part of a unified concept, REAL WINTER. The medals were constructed of an innovative aluminum alloy with precious metals in combination with Swarovski crystals.
