Stethoscope

Adachi Clinic Kobe Design Laboratory

There are many types of stethoscopes in the medical field, each designed for specific purposes. We focused on the stethoscope as a daily tool in patient care—an instrument that connects practitioner and patient through both function and touch. It is more than a listening device. It embodies closeness, warmth, and empathy. Our stethoscopes retain the traditional structure but replace the coldness of metal with the natural warmth of wood. Building on our previous model, we further enhanced acoustic resolution. Each wood type, with its unique air density, creates subtle variations in tonal quality suited to different clinical contexts.
