Student dormitory

In the immediate vicinity of the International Building Exhibition in Hamburg, a new complex of 371 student apartments is being build based on the principles of universal design. On a central and well-connected site, Sauerbruch Hutton Architects have designed a young and vivid quarter, which will enrich the district of Wilhelmsburg. All of the apartments are fully prefabricated wooden modules. In accordance with universal design, these modules can be adapted in a variety of ways throughout their lifecycle.

iF Gold Statement

Spectacular in scale, the world's largest wooden pre-fab building project is only a stone's throw from central Hamburg, an ideal location for its student tenants. Consistent and aesthetic, this is an outstanding piece of architecture.
