Y (special issue)

Magazine

Y is the German Army's principal medium of internal communication. The mission of Y is to keep troops informed, as well as providing some political education. Once a year, a special edition of Y covers a single theme. In 2016, the topic of this special edition was “The Supreme Sacrifice – Death and Injury”. It is a deliberate confrontation with a difficult topic. The goal was to handle it with particular sensitivity while also ensuring that the content was clear and unbiased. The design expresses this commitment. The layout allows the reader space to reflect on and process the content that is being presented.
