Yamaha Sound Crossing Shibuya
showroom / studio / cafe
Yamaha CorporationShibuya Epicurus, a recording studio of Yamaha that opened in Shibuya in the 1970s, has produced many artists and been the birthplace of many new music trends and cultures. The area of Shibuya Sakuragaoka is “sacred ground” for musicians and artists, and, after a period during which Yamaha had to leave its base of operations here due to redevelopment of that area, the company is returning, which is a big event for pop / band music culture. Thus, in order to create a building worthy of this hallowed ground, a theme for the spatial design was chosen which traces the company’s trajectory and carries on its legacy into the future.
