Yin Yang Tai Chi Center

Recreational facility

This venue was designed to introduce Tai Chi, a slow form of martial arts, to a youthful demographic. As Tai Chi is at risk of being forgotten, the center showcases it as a "cool" activity like Yoga while communicating its philosophy. The layout represents two forces: Yin and Yang. The Yang space—bright due to southern exposure—is for group training and simulates the atmosphere of a park in the morning. The Yin space– subdued–caters to holistic treatments. The balanced space brings guests from both spaces together to mingle over tea—an activity that has been neglected in the modern age.
