In 1701, Hermann Zapp started his first production system with the purchase of a forge in the Oberbergische region. Today, the Zapp Group is active around the world with production sites in Germany and the U.S.A., as well as branches in Europe and Asia. The traditional medium-sized company processes and deals in precision metallic semi-finished goods, specialty materials, and tool alloys. Zapps products are largely sold to customers in the automotive industry, medical technology, watch and clock making, and automation engineering. The new brand design was introduced in early 2006.
