Yakiniku YAZAWA KYOTO
This is Yakiniku(Japanese style BBQ) restaurant project in Kyoto, Japan. The client’s demand was “Kyoto-ness”. When we considered the design method to give the impression of " -ness", we focused on the local vernacular construction method and material. Originally, architecture had vernacular reflecting the feature of each locality. We had another look at the traditional industry in Kyoto and tried to bring in the vernacular element to the modern space. Photo : Yasutake Kondo
