Hans von Klier

Milano, Italy

From 1968 to 1989 head of the Corporate Identity Worldwide of Ing. C. Olivetti & C. Spa. Since 1990, in charge of the Von Klier Associati Design group. Hans von Klier was born in Tetschen, Czechoslovakia,  in 1934. His leanings towards art take him to the Ulm college of design in 1955 where he concludes 4 years with a diploma in industrial design.

From 1960 to 1968 working in the studio of Ettore Sottsass jr. he creates the future-oriented design for Olivetti office equipment and office furnishing systems. During this period, von Klier exhibits twice at the Triennale in Milano and, in 1962, has the chance of his own exhibition for didactic toys at the gallery “ll Sestante” in Milano.

As an international  designer, he has repeatedly been selected as a juror, amongst others for the German Federal Award “GUTE FORM” / E.S.A.G. Paris/ SMAU Milan/ INTERNATIONAL FARB-DESIGN PREIS Stuttgart/iF Hannover. In addition he has held lectures and speeches on modern design at several universities and institutions in Germany, England, the USA, Singapore and Canada. The focus of his current creations lies on corporate design, objects, furniture and office furnishing systems, conception and constructions for fairs and exhibitions and interior design.
