Karsten Küber

Karsten Küber is the founder and owner of the design studio aroma:id, based in Offenbach am Main, Germany. Since 1999 the company has been working for well-known brands at home and abroad, including Braun, Sedus, Procter & Gamble, Deutsche Bahn, Fresenius, BSH, Schneider Schreibgeräte, Lufthansa, Villeroy & Boch and many more. The catalyst for founding aroma:id was a follow-up order from the European Astronaut Centre EAC of the ESA, for which Karsten had developed a camera system for extravehicular activities as part of his thesis. Born in Mainz, Karsten completed an apprenticeship in foundry molding with MAN and then studied Industrial Design at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. As part of his course, he worked at Neumeister Design in Munich on the design development of the ICE. Since 2016, Karsten has been a lecturer in industrial design at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. There he is engaged in building up the Product Development and Technical Design course, teaching modules such as Sustainable Product Development and Design Principles as well as supporting design projects.
