Adaptive Healing Room

Smart room environment

Philips

Neurology patients, especially after stroke, may face a challenge coping with hospital environments. Standard patient rooms may over-stimulate the brain, which can be impeding recovery. The Adaptive Healing Room is a design solution enabling gradual adaptation of stimuli to match the coping capabilities of the patient’s brain. Three different stimulus levels can be programmed to provide an optimally stimulating and engaging environment controlling the amount of artificial daylight, the stimulus level of the content displayed on a screen, the atmosphere in the night, etc. enriching the recovery with positive healing qualities.
