"All gone by - and now, us" Interactive project on CD-ROM

“All gone by – and now, us” is an interactive computer project on the topic of life and the transition of generations. The project uses the new media and their interactivity to make the passage of time palp-able, basing itself on the memories, thoughts and emotions of women from three different generations. The program offers an associative structure of image and sound fragments which the user can gradually assemble into his or her own concept of a female biography. The program navigation borrows from the principle of actual memory processes to guide the user into a “virtual” biography universe. By breaking down this complex theme into simple components, the program strives to give the user direct and intuitive access to the appropriate inner states. The personalized, non-linear narrative allows the user to experience different time and reality levels and the altered perception of those levels.
