Freestanding stove-concept

arcus – is a freestanding concept of a stove and it has been designed in cooperation with Miele & CIE. AG. Core element is the interface of the stove, which works completely without buttons and touchpad. Semantically a touchpad on the surface of the stove is to be seen critically. The reduction of the control elements is compensated by the fact, that the heating is regulated by the cookware itself. For instance, a simple rotation of the pan or cooking pot will either reduce or increase the heat of the stove. A water wall in the back of the stove has been integrated, this way steam can be bound and lead away. The jury: the concept has been transformed on a high-grade level.

JURY STATEMENT

Design for living - selected by Charles O. Job An elegant vision for an otherwise purely technical implement. The cooker is pared down to its essential function, and cooking utensils interact with it intuitively.
