COYANE SAIKAITOKI
Restaurant
Saikaitoki Co., Ltd
COYANE, located in Hasami, Nagasaki, a well-known pottery town, was built next to ÔYANE, also designed by DO.DO. to offer guests a more relaxing stay. The "whiter-than-white" Hasamiware tiles served as the primary material. The tiles were originally produced for the inner walls of a tunnel to improve visibility. The sliding doors on the east side open to connect with ÔYANE alfresco. The big windows on the north side are also slidable: guests can enjoy the idyllic landscape and feel the breeze inside the building. Inspired by the setting and the materials, it is a design that naturally blends, extends, and connects all elements.
