While ICUs are designed to stabilize the critically ill, many patients have reported dreadful experiences of their time in the ICU in terms of mental and emotional recovery. This Critical Care Experience Suite concept maintains technical merits while restoring the human experience. It provides the right environmental stimulus for patients and their given stage of recovery with the goal of reducing delirium, boredom and improving patient satisfaction. This unique concept integrates the core principles of spatial, industrial and technological design, underpinned by deep knowledge harnessed through co-creation.
