DOOR HANDLE SILO

Door handle

Joaquim Portela Arquitetos

This door handle was developed as part of a series of fittings for the Museum of the Portuguese Language (currently under construction). The museum, characterized by the cylindrical shapes of grain silos, had a decisive influence on the door handle's morphology. The simplicity of the piece, and the subtle relationship created with the silos, allow the use of this piece in any other building. The development of the design of this door handle also took into account the safety of use, taking the thumb away from the door's edge.
