Non Electric Razor

Electronic waste is currently the fastest-growing waste stream on the planet. This project rethinks the purpose of electronic devices and developed a non-electric alternative that is superior to its electric counterpart, not just from the point of view of environmental perspective. Compared to conventional devices ECORA is not operated with a rechargeable battery but through mechanically stored power. Also, the manufacture, assembly and recyclability are more environmentally friendly as no glued or bonded materials are used. This is an ideal alternative for green-minded consumers.

JURY STATEMENT

"This is an interesting way of approaching sustainability in design. Rather than looking to use renewable energy, this device runs on mechanical power. This wind-up razor can be used for decades and will never run out of juice."

WINNER STATEMENT

Truly an honor! I am so grateful to receive the 2022 IF TALENT AWARD. The goal was, to develop a product that counteracts the short life of electronic devices through a reduced but modern design. A non-electric alternative to the current products on the market.
