Foldable Disaster Housing

Disaster housing solution

Inside the tent, the temperature can rise up to an unbearable 40 °C or higher. To address these issues, we have designed a two-layered temporary shelter with a 15 cm air gap in between. The key design feature of this housing is its outer layer of 7 mm fluted, twin-walled polypropylene sheets. To fold the PP sheet, we have invented the v-shaped heat press technology that allows it to fold to up to 360° for easy packaging and transport. The housing can also be extended easily by overlapping two PP sheets folded to 180° and placed upside-down, a simple technique to prevent rain water from getting in. The housing can be assembled in ten minutes.
