Pop-up restaurant

Gaggenau Hausgeräte GmbH

This pop-up restaurant at the Art Beam Gallery brings an epicurean journey that began 333 years ago to a finish in Manhattan. Guests are greeted at the entrance by a cuckoo clock flanked by ladies wearing historical costumes. Stepping back through time, the guests are led into a cocktail reception area reminiscent of a blacksmith's workshop. Following this, they step through a curtain and walk through a corridor of mirrors surrounded by an encompassing waterfall. The guests now find themselves in the midst of a Black Forest setting, with the sounds of water and chirping birds. The air is cool and misty and the room dark with streaks of light.

iF Gold Statement

Stunning and emotional, this event is a great piece of work. It actually succeeds in immersing guests in the host country Germany, and electrifying them. With little showboatmanship and a simple idea, the mystical world of the Black Forest is blended with modernity.
