New permanent exhibition
The exhibition architecture focuses on the typology and atmosphere of a Baroque residential house transposed into contemporary forms and transformed for the use as an exhibition building. The museum design sensitively takes up the small unit structure of the house and integrates it into the design. A selection of classical presentation elements such as frames, pedestals, tables, showcases and cabinets are arranged in various groupings to create complex and harmonious room contexts. Baroque ornamentation plays an important role in the design of the individual objects.
Built Identity - selected by Achim Nagel At first glance, the contrast between the building’s baroque shell and its rigorously scaled down modern interior comes across as a radical break. At closer inspection however, you can see that the formal language of the past is also referenced and reinterpreted in the interior. This creates a fresh impression for this time-honored building.
