HydrogenCooker
Green hydrogen-powered mobile stove
HydrogenCooker, developed as a pilot project in Cameroon, utilizes solar-generated hydrogen to replace polluting fuels, addressing the needs of 2.6 billion people who use harmful cooking methods. The design incorporates insights from on-site research, cooking with five families, and local production facilities. It features a mobile, modular design suitable for usage in existing kitchen setups, with larger hotplates, intuitive controls, and emits water vapour only. Manufactured locally using laser-cut metal, it ensures durability, easy maintenance, and accessibility while being distributed as a service.
This is an honest and cost-effective solution that balances three essential aspects of design: sustainability, safety, and local production. The effectiveness of the solution is based on a strong understanding of machine-human interaction. Superb product execution!
WINNER STATEMENTI am delighted to receive the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD for my diploma project and look forward to sharing it with a wider audience thanks to this opportunity. A big thank you to everyone who supported me and this project during its development!
