HYRD

Bicycle component

TEKTRO TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION TEKTRO R&D

We have taken steps to solve this problem with the introduction of the HYRD. By positioning a cable actuated lever arm and hydraulic master cylinder at the disc brake caliper, the HYRD can be linked by standard cable to any standard road style brake / shift lever, effectively creating what is best described as a “semi hydraulic disc brake”. The result is a high performance disc brake capable of blending the power and modulation of hydraulic disc brakes to the current mechanical and or electric brake / shift levers offered by the major component manufacturers, with no need for extra parts mounted elsewhere on the bike.
