Exhibition

Daimler AG

Conception and realization of a touring exhibition on the subject of technological leadership in automobile manufacturing. The abstract term ”technological leadership” was translated into a pictorial diagram displaying the first Mercedes with the latest model, the 650 hp SLR, on a 13 x 3 m platform. Thus enabling the visitor to experience the span of the automotive development over the last 117 years. Spanning the platform between the two vehicles, these inventions are chronologically illustrated by exhibit elements and graphic symbols and accompanied by a timeline highlighting the milestones in development. Underneath the platform's glass surface, four robots move freely in a playful choreography. These robots activate the ”information spots”, playing the role of the archivists, story tellers and film projectionists. They assist in livening up the information with film sequences, animated text and graphics. The visual appearance consists of overlapping concentric circles, which begin at the first Mercedes and radiate over the entire exhibition area.
