Graphic designer Klemens Kluge has designed over 150 signs, logos and pictograms since 1991. Abstraction and a reduction to the essentials form the preeminent characteristics of his works, which were developed for a wide variety of industries. “Kluge Zeichen 1” is a retrospective aimed at promoting new projects for the coming years. Line drawings serve as a reminder that numerous drafts often precede the final version. This ultimately leads to the symbol that has to prove itself in everyday life: Embroidered in cloth, cut from metal or foil, printed on cork, painted onto a façade or applied to paper.
