I remember my childhood in Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The inspiration for the project was the story of the invasion of the cangaceiro Lampião in Mossoró in 1927. My grandmother was called to sew bags to store the bullets for the city's defenders. After Lampião's defeat, Mossoró became a cultural symbol of resistance. I made an analogy between the resilience of the northeastern people of Brazil and the Cereus Jamacaru (mandacaru) plant, a lasting, adaptable and beautiful symbol of Brazilian northeastern culture, which inspired the design of the products.
