Image website

The website of the Frankfurt-based merkwürdig design office consists of a practical HTML homepage with easy navigation allowing access to all the main information (e.g. the website portfolio, a driving map and the latest news). One click on the word “Enter”, however, and the user is taken to a Flash page where he or she has to interact with various buttons and graphics placed around the page. All the information can be displayed simultaneously in separate pop-up windows, which remain open until closed by the user. As more and more windows are clicked open simultaneously, new music tracks are overlaid, until the sparse opening melody metamorphoses into a complete tune. To convey the many facets of design appreciation, the user can click on a roving eye and modify the graphical expression and range of categories. The buttons that have already been introduced remain in the same position, but at every new level, the user is treated to a diverse array of experimental design ideas.
